It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Connie Baxter (nee Pearson), age 64, who departed this life peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
Connie Mary Baxter was born on March 10, 1962 at Lucky Lake, SK to Ken & Mary Pearson. Connie grew up on the Pearson Homestead just west of Lucky Lake. Following her Grade 12 graduation, Connie then graduated from Marvel Beauty School in Saskatoon, SK in 1982.
Connie married Jamie Baxter on October 2, 1982 and they were blessed with two children, their daughter, Brittany in 1986, and their son, Jordan in 1990.
In 1982 Connie operated a Salon in Beechy, SK until Jamie’s job with the Credit Union relocated them to Gainsborough, SK, where she continued her love of Hair Dressing in both Gainsborough and Carnduff, SK. In 1995 they moved the final time to Morse, SK. Connie operated a salon in the basement of their home until in 2017, when she purchased and renovated her salon on Main Street.
In 2009 Connie achieved her Continuing Care Aid through SIAST in Regina. She then worked at the Herbert & District Integrated Health Facility, until her diagnosis of Cancer, preventing her from continuing with both of her careers that she loved and the people of these careers that she also loved.
Throughout the years Connie enjoyed yearly vacations with their children which grew into Annual Vacations with her grandchildren. They purchased a tent trailer and packed up 3 grandchildren and camped for 7 days, camping in Manitoba and Alberta. These trips usually included water sliding, amusement rides where she participated by riding the wild rides with the grandchildren, as Jamie would have gotten sick.
She loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports which were curling, hockey, baseball, soccer, volleyball, football, and dance. She would travel 2 to 3 hours to see a game or tournament that started at 8:00am.
Connie was predeceased by her parents, Ken & Mary Pearson: her parents-in-law, Arnold & Marjorie Baxter; and by her brother-in-law, Leon Baxter.
Connie is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Jamie; her daughter, Brittany (Trevor) Olynick – their family, Aiden & Arizona: her son, Jordan, his partner (Denae Hussey) – their family, Nova, Rowen, Lennox; her sister, Virginia (Bill) Pennington; her brother, Brian (Denise) Pearson; her sister-in-law, Myrt Baxter; her brothers-in-law, Ryan (Joan) Baxter, Brent (Kim) Baxter, and Clarke (Karen) Baxter; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
