It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Dan Broccolo, age 66, after a short battle with cancerous brain tumors on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Clover House, Swift Current, SK.
Daniel “Dan” John Broccolo was born in Penticton, BC on December 14, 1952 to John & Nereida Broccolo. His family moved to Vancouver Island, where he met his future wife, Janis Donnelly. Dan & Jan moved to Swift Current in 1973 and were married in January of 1974. They were blessed with three sons — Russell, Steven, and Bradley.
Dan worked for the City of Swift Current for 33 years and retired in 2009. After retirement, he enjoyed working with Riverside Electric and McElheran Woodworks. Dan enjoyed travelling, camping, fishing, golfing, and working around the house and yard. He treasured his time with his wife and family — his grandchildren were the love of his life.
Dan leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 45 years, Jan; their sons, Russell (Heidi), Steven, and Bradley (Erin); their three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Brayden, and Lucas; his brothers, Ken (Marlene) and Randy (Adrienne); his brother-in-law, Bob (Delores) Donnelly; and by numerous nephews and nieces.
Special thank you to Dr. DeKlerk and the wonderful nurses and staff at the Clover House and Cypress Regional Hospital for the excellent care Dan received.
At Dan’s request, there will be no formal Funeral Service. A Celebration of Life will be held at Walker Place on Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 1:00 - 5:00pm.
In memory of Dan Broccolo, donations to the Dr. Noble Irwin Foundation (2051 Saskatchewan Drive, Swift Current, SK, S9H 0X6) would be appreciated by the family.
