Debra Sauder Obituary

Debra Sauder, age 68, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at The Meadows, Swift Current, SK, with her husband and children by her side. Debra Kim Sauder, was born on May 11, 1957, at Swift Current, SK to Howard & Myrna Heard, and grew up on a farm near Abbey, SK. She often escaped the yard with the help of her dog, Brownie, and enjoyed the freedom of the open prairie. After the passing of her mother, when Debra was just nine years old, her father later remarried when she was twelve, and the family moved to the Waldeck area. During high school, Debra met Brian Sauder while working at Truck Town. She told Brian that if he wanted to take her out, he would need to pick her up at the farm which he did. While Debra was impressed by his commitment, her father may have been more concerned about the cigarettes rolled up in Brian’s sleeve and his “bad‑boy” persona. Despite this, Debra very quickly realized Brian was the one for her. They were married in 1975, and throughout their marriage were dedicated to working hard and growing together, resulting in 50 wonderful years of life side by side. Debra was a loving mother to her daughter, Jamie (Christian) and her son, Jared (Annette). Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into supporting, and encouraging her husband and children. She was also a proud and devoted grandmother to Jackson, Elijah, Violet, Isabel, Lucy, Dora, Dexter, and Winter, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy. Debra cherished time with her grandchildren, visiting, baking cookies, shopping, or enjoying local attractions whenever they were together. Debra shared a love of travel with Brian, especially to tropical destinations, where they created many cherished memories. She looked forward to their beach vacations, which were times of rest, laughter, and deep connection. Debra lived a life firmly rooted in Christian faith, love, and devotion to family. Her faith guided her daily life and was evident in the compassion, integrity, and grace she showed to everyone she met. Her steadfast faith, and deep love for her family were key components of her life. Professionally, Debra was a well-known and accomplished realtor, respected for her integrity, dedication, and genuine care for her clients. Those who knew Debra will remember her outgoing spirit, stylish glasses, and colourful hair. Though her absence leaves a profound loss, her loved ones find comfort in knowing she is at peace and rejoicing in eternal life through her faith in Jesus Christ. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Clover House for their compassionate care. Special thanks to Dr. Lund who became a friend as well as a doctor over the last few years.
