It is with deep sadness that the family of Delores Chaulk announce the passing of their loving wife, mother, and grandmother on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK.
Delores Elaine Chaulk was born in November of 1944 to Victor & Ethel Schmiess in the Rush Lake, SK district, where she attended school and grew up. Delores met the love of her life, Elias Chaulk, from Port-aux-Basques, NL and they were married in 1962. They made their first home at Swift Current Airport, where Elias was employed with the Ministry of Transport.
Their marriage was blessed with three children, Randy, Landis, and Melanie. Elias’ profession took them to experience family life in Armstrong, ON, Sioux Lookout, ON, and Churchill, MB before returning to Swift Current, where she resided until her passing.
Delores and her family had many wonderful friendships and experiences along the way. Family was always at the forefront of her interests and she was a proud encourager of her family’s activities and careers. Delores’ deep Christian faith sustained her throughout her and her family’s life. She loved to participate in worship and fellowship at Trailview Alliance Church.
The birth of her six grandchildren brought such blessings and delight into her and Elias’ life. Watching them grow into wonderful young adults was her peace and joy. Delores & Elias enjoyed traveling and together, they saw ten Canadian provinces, eleven American states, and four European countries. Her favorite places on earth were Saskatchewan, Hawaii, and Switzerland.
Delores will be lovingly missed and remembered by her husband, Elias, her children and their families; her son, Randy (Kim) and their son Elias Jr., her son, Landis, and his children, Erica (Alex) Polito and Conner (Kyra), her daughter, Melanie (Danny) Lambert, and their daughters, Melissa (Colton) Heffley, Julia and Brooke; and also numerous nephews and nieces.

When I Am Gone
When I am gone, remember, I am with Jesus.
Then do not mourn because I’ve passed away.
Life holds so many griefs and disappointments,
and will you cry because I did not stay?
‘Tis only for a spell we must be parted.
Not many years on earth to us are given.
And when our Saviour tells me you are coming,
I’ll go with Him and welcome you to Heaven.
Grieve not because the eyes that looked upon you
shall never see your face on earth again.
Rejoice, because they looked upon the Saviour,
who gave His life to ransom sinful men.
Weep not, because I walk no longer with you.
Remember, I am walking streets of gold.
Weep for yourself that you, a while, must tarry,
before the blessed Lord you may behold.
