Dolores Nelson

Dolores Nelson, age 93, passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 in Cabri, SK with family by her side.

Dolores was born on January 26, 1930 in Regina, SK. She lived her entire life in the southwest corner of Saskatchewan where she met and married John Nelson. They made Cabri home for their family living on the family farm and later moving into the town of Cabri.

Dolores has been the heart of her family as it grew from her three children and their spouses, to ten grandchildren, to eighteen great-grandchildren.

Dolores will be remembered for her sense of humour, kind heart, her strong and determined spirit, love of cats, her skilled baking, knitting, and crocheting, and always being available for a visit and chat on the phone.

Dolores was predeceased by her husband, John Nelson; her son, Douglas Nelson; and her grandson, Caine Nelson.

Dolores leaves behind her children, Kent (Cindy Nelson), Dena (Dwaine Obst), and daughter-in-law, Debbie Roe; her nine grandchildren, Clinton (Mya), Benita (Shawn McMillan), Honni (Daniel Lizee), Ginny, Cassie (Nick Anderson), Taylor (Kwanita Nelson), Kenna (Chris Pilon), Barrie, and Kaylyn (Andrew Hildebrand); her eighteen great-grandchildren, Taylor Nelson-Caine’s daughter; Sarah, Lucas, and Barrie McMillan; Evan, Alex, Owen, Eryn, and Ayla Lizee; Hayley, Tyson, Cole and Kipton Anderson; Tavaris, Kaylana, and Malayna Nelson; and Jacob and Blayke Hildebrand; and her two sisters, Signe Bell and family and Cheryl Sorensen.

Dolores’s family would like to thank the staff at Prairie Health Care Centre for their care and love for her. She was blessed to live in a space that treated her like family.

A Private Family Service for Dolores Nelson will take place at a later date.
