Earl Leonard Line passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020 at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK. Born in Gull Lake, SK on July 17, 1923 — Earl lived, farmed, and operated a business in the Gull Lake area for over 96 years. Earl placed great value on his independence and he was proud to be able to live on his own and actively manage his business for all but the final few days of his life.
Earl is survived by his son, Doug (Marg) Line; his daughter, Debbie (Gerry) Wiebe; his four grandchildren, Jeff (Toni) Wiebe, Craig (Kristen) Wiebe, Matthew (Allysha) Wiebe, and Bethany (Randy) Shuman; and by his great-grandsons, Evan and Nathan Shuman.
The family wishes to thank the community of Gull Lake — especially friends and neighbors who looked in on Dad and helped him with transportation — and the local Royal Bank and Post Office staff for the many ways they helped him manage his business affairs. The benefits of living in a community where people look out for one another was a genuine gift.
The Swift Current Funeral Home compassionately managed the final few steps in Earl’s journey. In recognition of the challenging times we live in, the immediate family have chosen to forego a memorial service and instead scatter his remains on his farm.
