Esther Lepp, age 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK after a short but bravely fought battle with brain cancer.
Esther Lepp was born July 5, 1934 in Herbert, SK to John F. & Katherina Hildebrand, the eldest of four children. Esther received her high school education in Herbert then in 1953 she went to Normal School in Moose Jaw, SK to become a schoolteacher. Her first teaching job was at Rolling Plains school north of Morse and it was during this time she met Jake Lepp.
Esther & Jake were married on August 14, 1955 in Gouldtown, SK. After getting married, she became a homemaker. In 1965 she returned to teaching while the family lived in Riverhurst. In 1968, they moved back to Morse and she did some substitute teaching. In 1973, she became the administrator for the Town of Morse, a job she held until retiring in 1993.
Esther always had a love of learning and she enjoyed a challenge — from learning to play bridge to taking university classes. Esther was part of the bowling league, coffee row, and seniors club. In the summer, she enjoyed her flowers and vegetable garden, and was able to visit her grandson and family in England in 2008.
Esther was predeceased by her great-grandson, Kal-El Broley; her parents, John F. & Katherina; her brother, Elmer; and by her brother-in-law, Abe Harder.
Esther is survived by her husband, Jake; her children, Pat (Gordon) and Tim (Audrey); her grandchildren, Carmen (Trevor), Chandra (Tyler), Aaron (Keli), Lauri (Dan), and Timmy (Lucy); her great-grandchildren, Emerald, Xander, Connor, Shaine, Rylee, Jacob, Christopher, Alexander, Onyx, and Oakley; her sister, Elsie Harder; her brother Ray (Elvira); and by many nieces and nephews.
A Private Family Service will be held at a later date.
