Gene Batdorf

Gene Kelly Batdorf, age 62, passed away at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current, SK on June 19, 2024 with family by his side.

Gene Kelly was born on November 12, 1961 to Ray and Ann Batdorf, the youngest of 4 boys. Gene married Jennifer Newburgh on May 30,1998 in Swift Current. They began their life together living in the Wymark area and eventually they moved into Wymark. They cherished their many pets and thought of them like children. Gene is survived by his wife Jennifer and his beloved dog Bo; brothers Dale (Barb) and their children and Brian (Judy) and their children;  father-in-law Pat Newburgh; and brother-in-law Lawrence. Predeceased by his parents Ray and Ann; brother Wayne; mother-in-law Betty and a nephew Peter.

Gene love to fish and spent many hours at Lac Pelletier and Governor Dam. He enjoyed working with his hands, leather work and woodworking where his passions. Gene built a curved bridge for his train set and it is now show cased at Speedy Creek Model Railway club in Swift Current. Those who got his leatherwork, knew it was done and made with love. Gene did not want the fuss of a funeral, so when the time is right his ashes will be spread at his favourite places.
