It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gordon Stafford Waldron. He is survived by his wife Maryanne, also his children: Segan Waldron, Maryse Waldron and his stepchildren, son Ryan McLachlan and daughter Gayle Brown (Mark).
Gordon was born April 20, 1942 to Alex and Gwen Waldron in New Amsterdam, Guyana, South America and was the eldest of six brothers, also in Guyana. After he graduated from Grade 12, he became a Police Detective and Crime Scene Photographer.
In 1971, he moved to Calgary, AB, where he worked as a Purchasing Agent. He joined the Lions Club in Carseland, AB. He was assigned to the Lions Eye Bank, where he happily worked hundreds of volunteer hours. Gordon also joined the Strathmore Masons in 1999.
In 2007, he moved to Swift Current, SK, so he transferred both Lions and Mason memberships. He became a Lions District Governor for Southern Sask. where he oversaw and visited 43 Clubs. As a Mason, in 2014-15 he was Worshipful Master and Grand Steward from 2016-18.
He was an Associate Legion member at Swift Current, SK for 29 years, sponsored by Hugh Carter. He volunteered for Kyle Thrift.
His hobbies were reading and music. He read 17 international newspapers every day and loved jazz, soca, calypso and really all music. He also loved the Rebco Gang, where he spent many hours visiting and drinking coffee.
No funeral was requested by Gordon.
