Gregory Roh

April 14, 1970 ~ July 1, 2023 (age 53) 53 Years Old

Obituary

Greg Roh went to rest after a battle with cancer in the morning of July 1, 2023 at the Cypress Region Hospital, Swift Current, SK.

He was welcomed to the world by his parents Ron & Doreen and big brother Garth at Herbert Hospital on April 14, 1970. Greg grew up on the family farm near Flowing Well, SK and enjoyed spending time outside his whole life. Growing up you could find Greg outside, often holding an animal of some sort, whether that be a cat or a squirrel. He enjoyed time spent in the pasture with the cattle, in the field by way of sprayer and combine, on the quad, snowmobile, or any other machine that would take him where he wanted to go.

Growing up he was active in all sports, and enjoyed playing hockey and baseball into adulthood with local teams in Morse and Hodgeville. He graduated from Morse School in 1988 and worked as a meat cutter for his Uncle Ken and Aunt Terry at Morse Family Foods for a few years before going to Saskatoon to achieve his meat cutting certificate at Kelsey Institute, and then returning to work.

He found his passion for farming in the 90’s when he started farming alongside his dad and brother. He became a volunteer at the Morse Fire Department in 1990, became Deputy Fire Chief in January 2007 and has been Fire Chief since June 2009 until the day of his passing.

He enjoyed hunting and guiding and spending time with his dogs throughout life. He enjoyed many trips with friends to various locations, whether that be the Elkhorn Hotel in Morse, Northern Saskatchewan, the mountains, or Mexico.

If he wasn’t spending time with friends, you could find him enjoying the company of family at gatherings or simply lending a helping hand whenever needed. He loved his family, and always lit up when his niece and nephew walked in the room.

Greg was predeceased by his grandparents, Alec & Agatha Roh, Robert & Annie Rambow; Uncle Ken Roh, and Uncle Ken Arnold.

Greg is survived by his mother and father Doreen & Ron Roh; brother, Garth (Carlene) Roh; nephew, Blade (Ashley Blechinger) Roh; niece Kassidy (Devon) Redekop; along with countless other aunts, uncles, and cousins that were held near and dear to his heart.
