Gregory Weppler Obituary

It is with very heavy hearts that the family of Gregory Weppler, age 65, share the passing of their beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, and friend on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

Gregory William Weppler was born on April 17, 1960 at Herbert, SK to Ray and Florence Weppler.

Gregory “Gregg” married Brenda Schurr in 1984. Together they worked along side each other and their sons, Daniel and Clayton and their families. Gregg lived the life he loved, farming and ranching. sports was also a major interest of Gregg’s, both as a strong athlete in his youth playing hockey, baseball, curling, and ski, both downhill and water, and of course he loved to fish. Gregg enjoyed coaching his sons and their peers in ball and hockey in their younger years, then following the boys and their children in their chosen sports and music.

Gregg was conscious of making memories with the grandkids every chance he got. He stated he wanted the kids to remember him as the “crazy grandpa”. Gregg was so active and full of energy doing all he could find time to do with them, such as water tubing, playing catch, skating, working cattle, and just hanging out in the shop. Gregg will be so missed!

Gregg was predeceased by his parents, Roy & Florence Weppler; his niece, Chantel Wiebe; and by his parents-in-law, Bennie & Alma Schurr.

Gregg is survived by his wife of 42 years, Brenda; his son, Daniel (Marla) Weppler – their family, Leighton and Laramie: his son, Clayton (Sarah) Weppler – their family, Cruz, Chase, and Kyra; his brother, Lee (Sharon) Weppler; his sisters, Glenda (Ken) Wiebe and Sandra (Dale) Heiydt; his sisters-in-law, Carol Schurr, Dianna (Butch) McDiarmid, Myrna (Jim) Mann, Barb (Darrell) Bast, Joanne (Ralph) Eckl; his brother-in-law, Kelly (Laurie) Schurr; his Aunt Caroline & Uncle Chuck Weppler; numerous nieces and nephews; many cousins, in particular his special cousin and friend, Tom (Laurie) Weppler; as well as another close friend who was more like a brother, Baz (Michelle) Curry.
