Heide Riemann

With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Heide Riemann, age 77, on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at the Meadows, Swift Current, SK.

Heidmarie “Heide” Riemann was born November 21, 1944 in Rostock, Germany — she was one of two siblings. Right after birth, her family relocated to Hamburg as the war ended and Germany was evolving into two countries. It was there that she met the love of her life, Dieter Riemann.

Heide & Dieter were married on November 13, 1964 and together and shortly thereafter, three beautiful daughters arrived. In 1975 they made a life changing decision and immigrated to Canada, settling in Kenora, ON. From there, work would take them to British Columbia and back before settling in Herbert, SK — or home, as she called it.

Besides raising three beautiful daughters, Heide ran a successful business, was a town councillor, and very community minded. Her passion was her family, and she took immense pleasure in being a grandmother and a great-grandmother several times over. Heide was a friend of all and had a loving, good-natured way. She enjoyed singing with the Elders at the Herbert Manor.

Heide was predeceased by her parents.

Heide is survived by her husband, Dieter; her daughters, Ines (Tim), Kirsten, and Ilka (Dogan); her grandchildren, Teagan (Jesse), Nicholas, Bryan, Kaitlin, Geoffrey, Aydin, Ayla, Roxanne (Mark), and A.J. (Danielle); her great-grandchildren, Tayvin, Tianna, Karalyn, Lynnley, Brokklyn, and Emryn; and by her brother, Gunnar.
