Helen Schlamp

Sadly Helen Schlamp (nee Olfert), age 80, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at The Meadows in Swift Current, surrounded by her family. Mom was born on August 30, 1943 to Tina & Jacob Olfert. Mom married Pete Schlamp on October 2, 1960, and they were married for 63 years. This union was blessed with 5 children. Together, Mom & Pete raised crops and cattle on a small farm at Rhineland, until the summer of 2003 when they moved into Swift Current. Mom was a dedicated homemaker who always made time for a coffee and conversations with neighbours, whether she was knitting, crocheting, or crafting. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren. Due to declining health, Mom moved into long term care in August 2021. Mom leaves to mourn her husband, Pete; their 5 children and spouses, Theresa Paynter, Gordon Schlamp, Clifford Schlamp, Glenda Hopfner, Jeffery Schlamp; her 11 grandchildren and their spouses; her 4.75 great-grandchildren; her sister and a brother-in-law; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her parents; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; 2 nieces; and by 2 nephews.
