James 'Jim' Ens

The family of Jim Ens, age 73, of Swift Current, announce his passing on Thursday, July 9, 2020.

A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Swift Current.

Jim Ens, age 73, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK. James “Jim” Harold Ens was born September 8, 1946 in Swift Current to Peter & Margaret Ens. Jim married Irene Wiebe on December 9, 1967 and together they had three children — Clinton, Wanita, and Darren.

Jim spent his working years’ operating a backhoe and loved digging in the dirt, regardless of the project. He installed septic tanks with his father-in-law, he ran his own backhoe for a few years, worked for a road construction company, dug trenches, and operated a track hoe on the pipeline.

Jim was predeceased by his wife, Irene Ens; his son, Clinton Ens; his parents, Peter & Margaret Ens; his brothers, Frank Ens, Dave Ens, and John Ens; his sister, Sarah Friesen; his brothers-in-law, Frank Zacharias, Abe Friesen, and Elmer Wiebe; and by his sister-in-law, Rhona Wiebe.

Jim is survived by his children, Wanita (Eric) Christensen and Darren (Marla) Ens; his grandchildren, Keegan (Traci) Story, Chantal (Brendan Catalano) Story, Shelby Christensen, Michelle (Tyler) Davis, J.R. (Shawnna) Davis, and Mike (Sabre) Davis; his great-grandchildren, Harper Story, Chase Davis, Hunter Davis, Natalie Davis, Tori Davis, Jaxson Davis, Braydon Davis, Declan Davis, and Hailey Davis; and by many nieces and nephews.
