Jean Anderson

March 15, 1943 ~ March 16, 2023 (age 80) 80 Years Old

Obituary

Jean Anderson, age 80, died on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at the Meadows – House 7, Swift Current, SK. Jean Ellen Anderson was born March 15, 1943 to Gilbert & Agnes Penner in Cudworth, SK. She graduated from the Saskatoon City Hospital Nursing Program.

On May 8, 1965 Jean married Ron Anderson and they celebrated 55 years together prior to his passing in 2020. Jean stayed home with her kids when they were young, worked as a nurse and eventually became the Director of Care at the Lodge in Rosetown, SK.

Jean was the ultimate caregiver. She quietly and faithfully served others, never expecting recognition, and thought of others before herself. She enjoyed camping, serving at summer camps, church activities, and taking trips to Arizona in the winter.

Jean was a faithful wife, mother, and grandmother. She exemplified a calm, patient spirit and was faithful in her pursuit of knowing and following God’s plan for her life. We believe she has found her ultimate rest in His heavenly home.

She was known as “Nana” and was always excited to host the grandkids with chocolate chip cookies, sleepovers, and activities at the farm or at the lake. She was thrilled to hear the latest news and supported the grandkids in their music, 4H, athletics, and school activities. We all knew that Nana was always there for any of us. Nana faithfully prayed for and supported each of her children and grandchildren.

Jean is survived by her children, Darryl (April) Anderson, Patti (Brian) Neudorf, and Craig (Christi) Anderson; her seven grandchildren, Nicole and Megan Anderson, Mikayla and Clayton Neudorf, Caitlin (Michael) Braman, and Cara and Callie Anderson; and by her brother, Glen (Wilma) Penner.

Jean was predeceased by her husband, Ron Anderson; and by her parents, Gilbert & Agnes Penner.

The Funeral Service for Jean Anderson was held on Monday, March 27, 2023 at 1:00 pm from Bridgeway Community Church, Swift Current, SK with Pastor Bob Cappelle officiating. “Great is Thy Faithfulness” and “How Great Thou Art” were sung by the congregation under the leadership of Wendy Wiens, with Margaret Dasuik serving as pianist.
