Jean Kathleen (Steinley) Loose, age 85, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current, SK with her family by her side. Jean was born on August 12, 1938 at Rush Lake, SK to Leonard and Clara (Beisel) Steinley. Her family had many friends and acquaintances around the Rush Lake area, but in particular, the Loose family had a son named Carl, and when Jean was a young girl, Carl would often tease her, saying that someday he was going to marry her. When she was a teenager, her and her cousin Betty Beisel moved to the big City of Swift Current where they rented a room together and worked as waitresses at Mandarin Gardens. Carl became a frequent customer and shortly after, Carl and Jean were married on March 21, 1957. One day after the wedding, the newlyweds moved to Shaunavon to operate the Husky Gas Station. A year later, they moved back to Swift Current where their oldest daughter Yvonne was born, and then only eleven months later, their second daughter Brenda was born. As if their household wasn’t busy enough with two toddlers so close in age, the couple was then blessed once again with their third daughter Pam, who was born in Medicine Hat, AB. Carl and Jean loved their family immensely and were excited to move into the new house they had planned and built together. Jean was a gifted homemaker and a gracious host who exuded a quiet, yet graceful, demeanour that complimented Carl’s sociable outgoing personality. Jean was an excellent mother; there was nothing in the world that meant more to her than family.
Jean is survived by her daughters; Yvonne (Terry) Hiebert, their sons, Travis (Kyla) – Raya and Cade; Jeffrey (Jenna) – Reegan, Liam, Cash, Clay; Brenda (Dennis) Nelson, their daughters, Tanya (Trevor) Froese – Isaiah, Kai; Chantel (Brendan) Steinley – Elijah, Mia; Pam (Brian) Wiebe, their daughters, Paige, Taylor (Jordan) Neufeld, her brothers-in-law; Marvin (Bev), Jake (Karen); her sisters-in-law, Marion (Don) Sauder, Ev Loose, Gwen Loose and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Carl Loose (2016), her parents, Leonard and Clara Steinley; her parents-in-law, Jacob and Mary Loose; her brother Marvin (Esther) Steinley; her brothers-in-law, Archie (Orlene), Ken, Glen (Donna), Larry, Ralph; and by great-grandson, Ethan Steinley.
