Joellene Reed Obituary

Joellene Anne Reed, age 34, was born May 11, 1988 in Shaunavon, SK to Lonnie & Viviane Bolton. She graduated from the Shaunavon High School in 2006 and upgraded her classes in 2007 in Gull Lake, SK. There, she bought her first house a year later in 2008.

Joellene understood the value of work from a young age and worked at Autumn House, Pioneer Co-op, Horseshoe Diner, and Ted’s vac service. In 2015, she began working at RBC in Gull Lake, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Joellene worked hard and became the RBC Bank Manager in Shaunavon and took tremendous pride in her work.

Joellene married Tyler Reed on November 11, 2011 and they had a second wedding date on December 7, 2011 in Mexico near the Playa del Carmen on the beach. Joellene loved vacationing in Mexico, so it was fitting to have a wedding there. She not only loved her vacations, but also loved roads trips to Cypress and Fernie. She loved music and  animals — especially dogs, cats, and horses.

Her favorite thing was spending time with her husband and sons, Theo and Jack. Joellene & Tyler welcomed their first son, Theo, in 2013. A few short years after his birth, she received her first cancer diagnosis in 2016, and was given the all-clear in 2017. They welcomed their second son, Jack, in 2020. Her cancer came back shortly after and Joellene fought back with everything she had, because she had a lot to fight for.

Sadly, her last battle was unwinnable and Joellene passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022 surrounded by family at Clover House, Swift Current, SK at the age of 34. A dearly loved wife, mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend, Joellene will be deeply missed and forever loved by those who knew her.

Joellene is survived by her husband, Tyler Reed; her sons, Theo and Jack; her parents, Lonnie & Viviane Bolton; her brothers, Jonathon (Samantha), Jason, and Derrick (Lacie); her parents-in-law, Theodore & Corinne Reed; brothers-in-law, Christopher (Jeanna) and Brian (Jessica); her nieces and nephews, Charla, Brooklyn, Natalie, James, Emily, Cyanna (Kristin), Ella, Luna, Jocelyn, (Berri-Sue), Madison, Lucas, (Ashley); her many extended family members across Canada and the United States; and by her friends.

Joellene was predeceased by her grandparents, Elsie Bolton, Marianna Bolton, Wes Bolton, Beatrice Godbout, Monique Godbout, and Adelard Godbout; her uncles, Neil Bolton, Richard Godbout, and Paul-Aime Godbout; and by her cousins, Nicolas Godbout and Dave Godbout.
