June Giesbrecht Obituary

June Giesbrecht, 66, of New Norway, AB and formerly of Swift Current, SK passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020. June Marie Giesbrecht was born to Van & Edith Adeline Campbell on June 1, 1953 in Seattle, WA. Throughout the last number of years, she has made Swift Current, Red Deer, Castlegar, and Ferintosh home.

June most recently worked as a Deli Manager and Clerk at the Camrose Safeway. After ten years of service, she retired in 2018.  After retiring, June enjoyed bingo, gardening, her church, travel, and time with her extended family. She also loved art, good music, autobody and paint, and dancing. One of the true loves of her life were her beloved dogs Rusty, Button, and Cinnamon.

June married Wylie Giesbrecht on July 10, 1993 in Wymark, SK. This marriage brought together their two families —  June’s daughters:  TJ Keller (Darryl), Jessica and Bradley; Shannon Collins (Ed) Cody, Santana, Kenny; Christine Chabot (Rod) Tucker; Katherin Elford (Kelcy) Riata and Luke; and Wylie’s children:  Patty Giesbrecht,  Bill McCann (Liz), Donovan Giesbrecht; Rhonda Allen; and their several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

June is survived by her siblings, Raymond Hillson (Elaine), Marlene Cyr, Audrey Bragg, Jim Campbell (Lois), and Janie Campbell.

June was predeceased by her parents.

The family has entrusted Swift Current Funeral Home with the arrangements. A Memorial Service will be scheduled for a date later this year when a friends and family gathering is possible.        

In lieu of flowers and in memory of June Giesbrecht, donations made to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
