Karen Bonesky, age 73, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022 at the family farm.
Karen Bonesky, born November 2,1948 in Herbert, Saskatchewan, was eldest child of immigrant parents Wiegand and Katie Friesen.
She married Larry Bonesky on June 10,1967 and loved rural living on the Bonesky family homestead where she embraced farming with deep passion. Beyond farming, she worked to build capacity in business and non-profits, investing much of her time in the volunteer and economic development community across the southwest region.
Karen is survived by her husband Larry, her precious daughters Lorie Dean and Kelly Green and her only and most favorite grandson Daniel Green; her sister Elizabeth Morris and spouse Don, Elizabeth's children Aaron, Dana and Melissa and their families; her late brother's daughter Katie Redekopp and family, and her sister-in-law Diane Friesen. She is predeceased by her brother Cornelius in 1992, mother in 1993 and father in 2000.
Karen enjoyed a blessed, creative life filled with nature, family and friends.
At her request there will be a private family gathering at the farm.
