Kirby Dyrland Obituary

Kirby Ronald Dyrland, age 36, of Kyle, Saskatchewan was born on January 6, 1984 in the Swift Current Union Hospital to Ronald & Beverly Dyrland, and big brother, Shaun. Kirby was raised on the family farm southwest of Kyle where he farmed and ranched until, after a short illness, he passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020. Kirby completed his K-12 education at the Kyle Composite School, where he graduated as valedictorian. He finished one semester in Engineering at the U of S before deciding that the farm was where he needed to be with his dad and brother.

Kirby married the love of his life, Kendra (Wicks) on July 7, 2007.  Lucky 7/7/7. He was the most devoted and loving husband to her, and daddy to their children: Chase Kirby (9) and Maeva Lynnae (7). His interests revolved around his family and his work. Kirby was intensely passionate about agriculture in both grain and cattle. In recent years he had started growing his own herd of Registered Black Angus Cattle and was excited about some new genetics.

Kirby was a natural athlete and throughout his life enjoyed curling, basketball, volleyball, track & field, hockey, skiing, baseball, slo pitch, badminton, wakeboarding, golf and Tae Kwon Do. He especially enjoyed any sport played with his wife or kids.

At the time of his passing, Kirby was a part owner of Viking Acres Inc. along side his brother and dad. He had his own cattle company, Norseman Angus, and served as a counsellor for the RM of Lacadena.

Kirby will be remembered for his infectious smile, his long talks, his enormous heart, his talented singing voice, his warm hugs, his compassion for others, his constant willingness to lend a helping hand, his love of his family, his love of music, his love of all animals, his love of children, his love of a job well done, and his steadfast faith.

Kirby was predeceased by his grandparents, Ellert & Selma Dyrland, and George & Ruth Imrie; and by his mother, Beverly. He is survived by his wife Kendra; his children, Chase and Maeva; his father, Ron; his brother, Shaun (Sidamie, Mathias, Freya); his in-laws, Clayton & Sheila Wicks; brother-in-law, Jordan (Leann, Jake); along with many beloved Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.
