Laura Sutter, age 97, of Swift Current, SK, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current. Laura was born on October 24, 1926, at Gravelbourg, SK to Samuel & Emma Sutter, the eldest of four children. At the age of 18, Laura attended the Herbert Bible College and graduated with a certificate in Religious Studies. For the next year and a half, Laura worked as a Nurse’s Aide at the St Joseph’s Hospital in Gravelbourg. She then moved to Saskatoon City Hospital where she completed her nurses training. Laura was employed at the Swift Current Union Hospital, which later became the Cypress Regional Hospital, and worked many of those years on the Labour & Delivery Unit. She continued working at the hospital until her retirement at age 65. Laura was also a member of the Swift Current Alliance Church, and was a person who loved everyone and found fault in no one. Laura lived a full life, surrounding herself with beloved family and friends. Laura was predeceased by her parents, Samuel & Emma Sutter; her nephew, Steven Wald (2001); her brothers-in-law, Norman Erb, and Ernie Wald; her best friend, May Campbell; and by many aunts and uncles. Laura is survived by her sister, Teana Erb; Teana’s daughter, Sandra (Gordon) - their family, Melanie (Mike) and their children, Grayson, Nolan, and Gavin: Sandra’s daughter, Morgan; Teana’s son, Ellery (Gloria) - their family, Karrie (Dan) and their children, Claire, Levi, and Blake (Jackie); her sister, Alice Wald; Alice’s daughter, Donna Fiset (Darcy) - their children, Sonny (Riley) and Malachi (Josee); her brother, Wally Sutter (Bettie); Wally’s daughter, Melody (Peter) - their son, Jackson: Wally’s son, Monty (Bev); her long-time friends, Marion & Gary Wiebe; and by numerous cousins. Laura will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
