Obituary

Lisette Baumann, age 85, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Clover House, Swift Current, SK.

Lisette “Lee” Marlene Baumann was born on February 19, 1937 to Albert & Emma Delzer in Maple Creek, SK. She was the eldest sister to Arlene, Violet, and Embert Delzer and Fred, Jim, and Earlean Itvelt.

Lisette was baptized March 13,1965 and made the prayerful decision to move to Quebec in 1967 to serve full time in the Ministry as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. When Lee returned to Swift Current she was very active in the Ministry and she shared the hope held out to all from the Bible.

Lisette met Barry Baumann and in February of 1975 they were married. Later in the year on December 27, they were blessed with joy in the birth of their only son, Jason. Lisette & Barry were loving parents to Jason until Barry became ill, she cared for him until his death from in a tragic accident. Lisette then took on the sole responsibility of caring for Jason — she was a loving and caring mother who spent a great deal of time with Jason.

Together, they served Jehovah God and followed Christ Jesus’ teachings closely. Through their faith they made many, many good friends and some of them became like family. This led them both on many adventures to different places throughout the provinces, you could always count on Lee saying, “we should go and see,” and then Jason would drive her wherever that road trip was going to be — you could be sure it always involved friends or family.

Faith, family, and friends were everything to Lisette. Lee was very loved by her family and her big spiritual family. She had a very giving nature and was always asking if you were doing ok and giving free hugs. She loved to laugh and of course, sing. Lisette loved to sing and yodel, it was gift she would share with all of us, and we loved it dearly.

Her caring nature showed in all she did from the cats they took in, her garden full of flowers and vegetables, and helping others with tasks they needed assistance with. She had a tremendous love for God’s creation and Jason would take her on drives just so she could watch the birds, geese, and deer. She loved seeing all the wildlife, especially with Jason.

Lisette also enjoyed baseball, gardening, cards, and flowers. She was the pillar of strength for her and Jason and worked hard at Pioneer Village to make a comfortable home for them both.

Left to mourn Lisette’s passing is her son, Jason; her sister, Earlene; her nieces and nephews; and by her loving spiritual family.

A Celebration of Life for Lisette will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 2:00 pm from Kingdom Hall, Swift Current with Keith Spark officiating.
