Marcel Landry Obituary

THE WORLD HAS LOST A WONDERFUL SOUL

The love of my life, Marcel (Frenchy) Landry, passed away unexpectedly on September 4, 2024 at the age of 64 years

Marcel leaves behind an amazing Legacy of Love with his wife Judy of 39 years,

Children: Tammy, Jayson, Marcel and Daniel,

 his grandchildren

Brothers Gabriel and Paul, Sisters Louise and Bernita and their families

Brothers and Sisters in law Kendra/Ron, Ken/Shannon, Doug/Stephanie, Bonnie/Les

As well as numerous nieces and nephews

And many great friends and acquaintances

He touched and impacted the lives of everyone he met and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He lived a life full of love and a deep commitment to those he loved.  Everyone was instantly drawn to his infectious smile and personality.  He had many stories to tell and was always happy when he could pull off one of his little pranks on someone.

He loved the outdoors and was happiest riding his quad with the Little Bow gang, out shooting or especially being on the water.  He loved fishing and was thrilled to be invited on a trip to fish at Langara in B.C.(he always referred to it as Alaska in his fish tales)  He really loved winning at Crib or Skipbo.

Marcel was a sailor on cargo ships for 7 years.  He passed his Wheelsman’s ticket before he was 14.  He was always a perfectionist in any task he took on, always proud of his accomplishments.

Before retiring in 2019, he worked for McCrum’s Office Furnishings for over 10 years

Marcel had been anticipating a long overdue road trip.  Little did we know this road trip to Saskatchewan would be our last, but it was an amazing trip that I will cherish and remember forever.  A personal  Thank you to Brad (Red) and Jan for their hospitality and making his last days such a wonderful memory.  I won’t soon forget those pigeons and when my new wind chime plays its song for me, I will think of him and see his proud loving smile.

Marcel’s untimely passing leaves a huge void in so many lives. He was a well loved and respected man.

Marcel fought a long and hard battle with cancer for the last 5 years, putting on a brave face even when the pain was overwhelming.  There is comfort in knowing he is no longer in pain and is in God’s loving hands.

I wish to thank the amazing Management and Staff of the Coast Hotel in Swift Current as well as Kailey and the staff at the Swift Current Funeral Home for their kindness and professionalism.

Thank you to my incredibly supportive family.  Love you all so much.

And a very Special Thank you to Irvin for bringing my Marcel home.

Rest in Peace now my darling husband.  I will love and miss you Today, Tomorrow, Forever.

One day we will be together again.

Until then…….
