It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mary Mitchell announce her passing on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at the Meadows in Swift Current, SK. 

The Interment service will be held at a later date at Kerrobert Cemetery, Kerrobert, SK.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Alzheimer's Society of Saskatchewan, would be appreciated by the family.

Mary Mitchell, age 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at The Meadows, Swift Current, SK surrounded by family. Mary Irene Mitchell was born on July 8, 1946 at Maidstone, SK to Roy & Anne Nikirk. Mary faced many challenges in her life, but remained resilient regardless of what life brought her way. She was a kind and caring soul with a smile that would light up a room. While raising her six children, Mary operated a daycare and later studied and graduated as a Special Care Aide. She went on to work for Homecare until she retired in 2013. In her career, Mary often went above and beyond helping all those around her that required assistance. Mary travelled to visit all her family and loved attending family functions and family reunions with pride. Mary also had many interests and hobbies, some of these included gardening, as she loved her yard and flowers, painting beautiful rocks, cooking, and baking. No one ever went without an elaborate birthday cake and her butter tarts with their secret ingredients were the envy of many. Mary had a passion for everything during the Christmas season, including theme color coordinated trees, special gift-wrapped boxes, and coordinating the decorations in her entire home. Mary’s family all have many fond memories of her. Mary leaves to treasure her memory her five daughters; her one son; her sons-in law; her daughter-in-law; her fourteen grandchildren; her nine great-grandchildren; her seven siblings and their spouses; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mary leaves a legacy of Love and Appreciation for you all, including those who became her extended family and lovingly cared for her, and were part of her journey, Home Care, Willow Creek Manor, and The Meadows. Thank you to All who celebrated her life these last few months as she enjoyed every visit. Mary’s wishes were for no service with Interment at a later date. I promise you this, as the years take their toll 

my memory may fade but my soul remains whole.
