It is with sadness that the family of Morgan Jones, age 55, announce his passing on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Vancouver, BC.
Morgan Allen Jones was born on June 30, 1969 at Regina, SK, and was raised in Swift Current, SK. His parents were Marguerite Rittinger & Vernon Jones. Morgan attended public schools in Swift Current, SK. Morgan moved to Vancouver in the early 1990’s. He was a lifelong learner, who loved to read and gain knowledge on numerous topics until he had an in-depth understanding. He would gladly share his knowledge if requested. Morgan also had a good sense of humor with a one-of-a-kind laugh.
Morgan faced adversity from a young age, enduring a lifelong mental health condition. He found a support system in Vancouver that enabled him to sustain his quality of life. Morgan always remained in his families thoughts through the years. It is good to finally have him back home and at peace.
Morgan was predeceased by his parents, Marguerite & Vernon. He is survived by his brother, Kevin (Tracey) Jones; his nieces, Dakotah Jones and Jordyn Jones; a great-nephew, Masyn Jackson; Uncle Herb (Margie) Leroy, and Aunt Katie (Ted) Shuemaker, and their families.
The Private Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 2:00 pm from the Swift Current Funeral Home Chapel, Swift Current, SK with Tim Ramage officiating. Scripture readings were brought by Dakotah Jones reading from Isaiah 41:9-10, and Jordyn Jones reading from Psalm 23. The obituary was shared by Kevin Jones. A PowerPoint Tribute was shown with chosen music, “Go Rest High” by Vince Gill. The Interment Service was held at Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current, SK with the following serving as pallbearers, Reg Wilson, Alden Seib, Masyn Jackson, Dakotah Jones, Jordyn Jones, and Kevin Jones. Funeral arrangements were in care of Swift Current Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK.
