In Loving Memory of Murray

Murray William Senicar passed away unexpectedly January 3, 2024 at Cypress Hills Regional Hospital. He was born on July 2, 1952 to Bill and Mary Senicar in Vanguard, Saskatchewan.

He gave great hugs showing boundless love and care. His ability to prioritize others before himself which left an everlasting mark on the hearts of his family and friends.

On May 22, 1976,  he married Lorraine Wornath at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Boswell’s, Saskatchewan. Together, they lived a life built on love, laughter, and countless treasured moments. Their greatest joy was in June, 1991 when twins, Justin and Jason came into their life. Having children transformed their lives and gave Murray great joy. His next proudest moment was when Grandchildren; Thea, Benjamin, and Jackson entered his life and they each held a special place in Papa’s heart. Whether playing with his Grandchildren, sharing his passion for fishing, or creating lasting memories at the family cabin, Murray’s greatest passion was being a father and Papa.

Throughout the years, Murray and Lorraine travelled across Canada from the Atlantic to the Pacific. This past year, Murray and Lorraine took a land and sea cruise to Alaska which was a highlight of their life. Dipping their toes in both oceans, and making it to the Arctic Circle.  They also travelled to Cuba, Florida, Hawaii, and Disneyland.

Murray loved to tease and joke; always trying to uplift the spirits of everyone around him. Murray loved visiting, fishing, E-biking, camping in the vintage Boler, model airplanes, cruising around in his 1978 Chrysler New Yorker, woodworking, and volunteering at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. He even built a little library at the family cabin for his grandchildren and the surrounding community to share.

As a Heavy-duty mechanic, Murray dedicated 36 years to Redhead, then several years at Gibsons Energy. Even in retirement, Murray shared his love of farming by helping the Laing and Unger families with seeding and harvest.

Murray is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine of 47 years; his son, Justin, granddaughter Thea; his son, Jason and wife Shelby, and grandsons, Benjamin and Jackson. He is also lovingly remembered by his sister, Diane (Adrian) Mulatz, his brother, Allen (Michele) Senicar, his sister-in-law, Gloria (Vic) Allison, his brother-in-law, Ted (Carol) Wornath. Also remembered by: Dolores Kapell, Ed (Marlene) Luciak, Irene Luciak, Helen Richards, Doreen Luciak, Eva Zimmerman, and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Your presence will be deeply missed, but your love will forever reside in our hearts.
