Olga Harder Klassen, age 94, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the Herbert Integrated Health Facility, Herbert, SK. Olga Harder Klassen was born on March 1, 1930. Olga was born on the farm, amongst the coulees in Main Centre, Saskatchewan to John and Tina Reimer. Olga had seven siblings - Abe, Henry, Johnny, Anne, Ben, Ed, and Elvena. Growing up, Olga loved the wide-open spaces, sleigh riding, playing in the coulees with the neighbor kids and community social connections. She recalled spending a lot of time working around the farm (canning, chickens, pigs, etc) and helping her Mom look after the other kids. She remembered walking to church. The walk was not difficult but the fact that they all spoke German made it a challenge! Olga completed 8th grade in school but graduated from the school of Common Sense with honors! Olga grew up on the farm in Main Centre, and then married Leonard Harder on June 26th, 1949, after which they relocated to the Doerksen Farm to begin their life together. They had five children (Allen, Ron, Kathy, Stan and Laurel). Len and Olga farmed in Herbert (they also had land in Gouldtown and Main Centre) as well as owning Herbert Motors, the Herbert Car Wash and several other businesses. Olga was known for her pristinely clean house, immense and weed free garden, incredible cooking and hospitality. Mom managed the household with grace and always had coffee and goodies at the ready when company arrived – unexpected or not! Olga was predeceased by her husband Leonard on March 22, 1993. After some years alone, she met Archie Klassen and they were married on June 23, 2007. They enjoyed their years together spreading the joy of music with “Archie and the Boys”, travelling (3 cruises and a trip to Spain), and enjoying each other’s company immensely. Olga is survived by her sister Elvena Braun, her four children, 12 grandchildren and 20.75 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, her other siblings, husband Leonard, son Allen, grand-daughter Tanya, great grand-son John and second husband Archie.
John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
