Pat Weinbender Obituary

Patricia Weinbender (nee Lepp), age 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2026 after her brave six-year battle with cancer.

Patricia ‘Pat’ Jayne Weinbender was born on May 7, 1957 in Herbert, SK to Jake & Esther Lepp. Her brother, Tim, was born in 1960. Jake was a grain buyer and the young family moved several times during her childhood to follow his job. They lived in Morse until 1965 when the family moved to Riverhurst. In 1968 they moved to Mazenod, and only nine months later, they returned to Morse to stay.

Pat married Gord (known to most as ‘Wacker’) on a windy November 1, 1975. They were blessed with three children, their first daughter, Carmen, in 1976, their second daughter, Chandra, in 1979, and  their son, Aaron, in 1981 completed their family. They lived in Morse until 1979 when Gord started working full-time with the Ministry of Highways and they re-located to Hodgeville. Pat worked at the Pioneer Credit Union in Hodgeville from 1987 to 2002. Pat & Gord enjoyed being part of their small active community and kept busy running the kids to all their activities.

In 2003, they moved their house from Hodgeville to Morse to be back in their hometown and closer to their aging parents.

All five of their grandkids arrived between 2004 – 2008, making for some fun, high-energy family gatherings.

Pat worked with the Herbert Credit Union from 2004 – 2012 when she took an early retirement, and Gord retired that same year. Pat & Gord spent their summers at Palliser Regional Park, enjoying boating, fishing, and spending time with their family and park friends.

Pat was a homebody through and through and was happiest at home with her cats, a good book or Sudoku, and Gord. She loved being in her comfy chair, whether that was her recliner in the living room or the swivel rocking chair on her sunny deck. She enjoyed reading and gardening and the company of her family and coffee visits with close friends. Pat was a special person and will be greatly missed by all who loved her and who were lucky enough to be part of her small circle.

Pat is survived by Gord, her husband of 51 years; her children, Carmen, Chandra (Tyler), Aaron (Keli); her five grandchildren, Emerald, Shaine, Xander, Rylee, and Connor; her brother, Tim (Audrey); her sisters-in-law; her nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; her cousins; and by all that were lucky to call her a friend.

As per Pat’s request, there will be no formal service. The family placed their trust with Swift Current Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK. For further information or to leave a personal message of condolence on the family‘s obituary page, please go to swiftcurrentfuneralhome.com
