Rosalene Adam (nee Garman), age 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025 from complications after surgery at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, SK, surrounded by her children and their spouses. Rosalene Yvonne Adam was born on November 12, 1941, in Elstow, SK, to John & Julia Garman, the second oldest of 10 children. Being the eldest daughter, she was a caregiver to her younger siblings and had to quit school in Grade 9 to do so. Her younger years were spent in the Elstow and Bradwell areas before the family settled on the farm outside of Allan in 1950. She left home at 16 to work as a nanny for a doctor’s family in Saskatoon. At a family wedding, she met a handsome young man named William “Bill” Adam. At first, she thought he was too old for her, but he pursued her relentlessly until he won her over. They were married on June 30, 1962, in Allan, SK. They moved to Dunblane, as Bill worked on the Gardiner Dam. In August 1963, they welcomed their first child, Kelsey. Following the death of Bill’s father, they moved to the Spiritwood area to the family farm. In November of 1964, Corey was born, followed by Arlene in 1967 to complete the family. Rosalene loved baking, sewing (she was famous for her Barbie doll clothing), and gardening, both vegetables and her flowers, winning Best Rural Garden for the area in 1990. She was a partner on the farm, devoted wife and mother. Her greatest joy in her later years was spending time with her 6 grandchildren. In 1998, they sold the farm and moved to Swift Current to be closer to her grandchildren. While in Swift Current, she was active with Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, the Miracle Quilters group, TOPS and KOPS, and as a good friend and neighbour. Rosalene was predeceased by her granddaughter, Kortni Adam; her parents, John & Julia Garman; and by her brother, Leo Garman. She leaves to treasure her memory her husband of 63 years, Bill Adam; her children, Kelsey (Jessica) Adam, Corey (Melanie) Adam, Arlene (Robert Harker); her grandchildren, Rebecca, Kaleb, Zane, Kendra, and Keith; her sisters and brothers; and many nieces and nephews.
