Rosina Stroeder, age 80, of Swift Current passed away suddenly at her home in Swift Current, SK on Sunday, October 18, 2020 with her husband, Daniel, by her side. Rosina M. Stroeder was born May 28, 1940 in St. Walburg, Saskatchewan to Walter & Theresa Fischer, one of nine children.
On August 7, 1963 Rosina married Daniel P. Stroeder and they began their life together in Swift Current. Together, they raised four children —Jacqueline, Lawrence, Raymond, and Vincent. Throughout her life she participated in Girl Guides, Navy League, and with the Canadian Diabetes Association.
Rosina’s faith was very important to her and she was a long-time member of Christ the Redeemer Roman Catholic Parish in Swift Current, her favourite hymns were “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art.”
Flowers and plants were a special passion, didn’t matter if it was gardening outside or tending to her house plants. She loved the outdoors, going camping, watching sun rises and sun sets, and star gazing. Rosina also enjoyed sewing. The people in her life were incredibly important, she loved spending time with her family and visiting friends.
Rosina left this message for her family and friends, “Love one another and always remember to think of me once in a while. I love you all and want you to know that if I’ve caused you hurt, it wasn’t my intention. May God be with you all.”
Rosina is survived by her husband of 57 years, Daniel Stroeder; her children, Jacqueline, Lawrence, and Raymond; her siblings, Christine, Josephine (Ralph), James, Tony (Lynn), Ed, John (Fanie), and Otto (Sam); and by many nieces and nephews.
Rosina was predeceased by her son, Vincent, in 1970; her parents, Walter & Theresa Fischer; her sister, Linda; her nephew, Kelly; her parents-in-law, James & Mary Stroeder; her sisters-in-law, Linda (Merle), Sandy (James), Kate (Ed), Margaret (Norbert), and Bernie (Adolph); and by her brother-in-law, Harold (Frances).
The Memorial Service for Rosina Stroeder was held on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 1:30 pm from the Swift Current Funeral Home Chapel, Swift Current, SK with Rev. Thomas Mutavanattu officiating. “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art” were sung by those in attendance, with Marlene Dolter serving as pianist. Sherman Veitenheimer served as Psalmist.
