Rosina "Rose" Mantie Obituary

Rosina “Rose” Mantie (nee Bauer) passed away peacefully at her home in Swift Current, SK on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at the age of 83.

Rose was born on May 31, 1938 in Leader, SK to Gustave & Pauline Bauer, she spent her time growing up in Burstall, SK. After graduation from Burstall High School, she would attend Teachers College in Moose Jaw, SK to become a teacher.

She taught in Salt Lake, SK, McMahon, SK, Waldeck, SK, and Swift Current, SK. She met her future husband of 64 years, Harvey Mantie, at Salt Lake. Rose and Harvey were married on August 15, 1958. They adopted their son, Mark, in February of 1969.

Rose was predeceased by her brothers, Ervin, Lloyd, Bill, and Ed; and by her sisters, Alvina, Pauline, and Frieda. Rose leaves behind her husband, Harvey; her son, Mark (Bonnie) (Swift Current, SK); her granddaughters, Krystina (Ray) Ellert (Chaplin, SK) and Samantha Mantie (Saskatoon, SK); her great-grandchildren, Xander and Xia; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Rose was a very loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and auntie. She will be deeply missed by all.

The Funeral Service for Rose Mantie was held on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 2:00 pm from St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Swift Current, SK with Rev. Linda Hall officiating. “One Day at a Time” was sung by the congregation, with Bob & Arlie Neufeld serving as musicians. Special music was “Too Old to Die Young” and “Mother.” The tributes were given by Mark Mantie and Samantha Mantie. The Scripture read was Psalm 121 and Matthew 6:25-30.

The urn bearer was Krystina Ellert. The guest book attendant was Jannie Lang. The ushers in the church were Bob Neufeld and Ronnie Lippert.
