~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ross Forster, age 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Cypress House, Swift Current, SK.
George Ross Forster was born September 20, 1941 in Eston, SK to George & Jessie (Middleton) Forster.  Along with his sister, Kathleen, he grew up on the family farm north of Lancer, SK where he resided until November 2020, when he moved to Cypress House.
Ross attended school in Lancer for grades 1 – 8, then began farming with his father. Ross was incredibly talented with tools and spent many hours in his shop tinkering, repairing, and building. He especially enjoyed restoring antique tractors and participated in many tractor-pulls around the area.
Ross was fortunate to do some travelling and went to Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, Scotland, and England. A tour to the John Deere factory in Illinois was a trip he particularly enjoyed. Ross’s tractors were always John Deere green and he was a big supporter of the Ford Motor Company.
In later years, he looked forward to coffee with the boys at Tim Horton’s and having meals at his favorite restaurants, before returning home from his daily drives.
Ross is survived by his sister, Kathleen Israelson (Provost, AB); his nephew, Darryl (Angela) Israelson (Provost, AB) and their children, Tanner and Daelyn; his niece, Karen Israelson (Edmonton, AB); and by numerous extended Forster and Middleton family members.
Ross was predeceased by his parents, George & Jessie Forster; his brother-in-law, Ron Israelson; and by his nephew, Bryan Israelson.
The family would like to give recognition to the healthcare providers at Cypress House for their support and care of Ross during his stay. Special thanks to Mac & Val Forster for all they’ve done for Ross — you were always there when needed. We would also like to thank the Lancer community for looking out for him over the last number of years.
