Stella Lily Enns

Stella Enns, age 100 years and 101 days, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at the Herbert & District Integrated Health Facility, Herbert, SK. Stella was predeceased by her husband, Jake, in 1994; her son-in-law, Carl Siemens; her parents, Elisabeth & Peter Penner; and by her siblings & spouses, Zelda (Alfred) Wiebe, Alice (Cecil) Priebe, Elvin (Helen) Penner, and Verna Priebe. She is survived by her children, Myrna (Ken) Priebe, Elizabeth Enns, Noel (Joyce) Enns, Hollyce Siemens, and Jon (Darlene) Enns; her grandchildren, Joel Priebe, Lawrence (Missy) Priebe, Ceceila (Curtis) Schulz, Charles (Maria) Enns, Carrie (Will Doyle) Siemens, Jolene (Ryan Paradis) Siemens, Allison (John) Siemens Worsley, Melissa (Oscar) Enns Delgado, Ashley Enns, Stacey (Lance) Erickson, and Lindy Enns; her great-grandchildren, Bethany, David and Cassandra Priebe: Ava, Kade and Jace Schulz: Juliet and Caleb Enns: Grace Siemens Paradis: Alais, Blythe and Enzo Worsley: Elena and Lilia Delgado: and Ethan and Emma Erickson; her brother & Sister-in-law, Reino (Doris) Penner; and by a brother-in-law, Dennis Priebe. Stella Lily Enns was born on April 12, 1925 on the farm North of Herbert, to Peter & Elizabeth Penner. Stella loved her large extended family and never forgot birthdays or anniversaries. She was a very good homemaker and an excellent cook. Stella was a good seamstress and sewed many clothes, including wedding gowns. She also decorated wedding cakes. Stella was very artistic. She sketched, painted and even taught some art classes. She loved gardening, traveling, camping, reading, doing puzzles, playing games, and so many more things. Stella was a teacher as well, teaching in one room schoolhouses. Later, she upgraded her education and taught school in Herbert, Main Centre, and the Colony. Stella actively helped Jake on the farm. She also loved all of nature, wildflowers, and bird watching in particular. She passed that interest on to all of her family. Stella was a woman of faith who loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a person who daily prayed for her family by name, including extended family down to four generations.

We, her family, will miss Stella and her prayers, but we rejoice in the freedom and peace she has found. In memory of Stella, our mother, love and spend time with your own family. Enjoy and appreciate nature and God’s creation around you. Cherish your life and make the most of it.
