Sylvia Friesen

Sylvia Friesen, age 78, of Swift Current, SK passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current.

Sylvia is survived by her sister-in-law, Emily; her nephew, Dustin (Brenda); and by her great-nieces, Lauren and Jessica.

Sylvia was born January 31, 1942 to Isaac & Marie Friesen in Swift Current. She attended the Elmwood School and graduated from SCCI in 1960. Sylvia worked for SaskPower, the City of Swift Current, and retired from the Prairie West School Division in 2007. Sylvia loved taking road trips to the United States, Alberta, and anywhere that struck her fancy. She spent many long hours walking with her cousin, Mary Prang, and meeting friends for coffee several times a week. Sylvia was a soft-spoken person and a gentle soul who made friends easily.

Her courage and strength through the last few years of her life were unbelievable. She never gave up on living as full a life as she was able. She always knew the right thing to say in any situation and will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her.

Thank you to the staff at the Cypress Regional Hospital for the care they gave her and to Rev. Lois Bukar of Zion Mennonite Church for her many visits over the years.
