Tina Froese

Katherina “Tina” Froese, age 92 years, one month, and seventeen days, peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 9:15 pm at the Meadows, Swift Current, SK.

Mom was born to Abraham & Sarah Neufeld on April 29, 1928 on the family farm in Rosenort, SK — the eighth of sixteen children. She attended Iris School, where she completed her grade eight education.

On September 26, 1948 she married our Dad, David Froese. They were blessed with seven children that they raised on a farm in Rosenhof, SK. She accepted the Lord as her personal Saviour and received the assurance of salvation during the great 1958 revival. Ever since, she’s had such a passionate love for Christ and a heart for others to know Him! She was a faithful support to her husband in ministry and a wonderful helpmeet on the farm. Her hospitality was second to none!

When her children had all left home, she worked at the Palliser Care Centre as part of the housekeeping staff for several years. She loved her job and did it with excellence. As a result of open-heart bypass surgery in 1987, she was blessed with another thirty-two years. Even though her body seemed frail, she had strength and stamina that was astounding. We have valued her steadfast love, caring heart, and faithful prayers immensely throughout her life.

Mom will be greatly missed by her children, Ernest (Agnes) Froese, Kathy (Phil) Henderson, John (Helen) Froese, Trudy (Ron) Olfert, Marion (Dave) Ginter, Carrie (Randy) Giesbrecht, and Darlene (Garry) Friesen; her twenty-two grandchildren; her fifty-three great-grandchildren; her three great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Elsie Penner, Lena Neufeld, and Sally (Peter) Dueck; her sisters-in-law, Chris Neufeld, Susan Neufeld, Helen Neufeld, and Margaret Neufeld; and by many nieces and nephews.

Tina was predeceased by her husband, David Froese; her daughter-in-law, Susan Froese; her parents, Abraham & Sara Neufeld; by her three sisters; and by her eight brothers.

The Private Family Funeral Service for Tina Froese was held on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 2:00 pm from Victory Family Church, Swift Current, SK with Pastor Bryon Bezanson officiating. “How Beautiful Heaven Must Be” and “To God Be the Glory” were sung by the congregation under the leadership of Ron Olfert, with Lynnette Potter serving as pianist. Special music was brought by Tina’s family. Tributes were given by Kathy Henderson and Darlene Friesen.

The Private Family Interment Service will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2020 from Mount Pleasant Burial Park, Swift Current, SK with Jerry Froese, Stacey Henderson, Leon Froese, Murray Froese, Geno Froese, Darcy Henderson, Raelene Cobb, Ryan Ginter, Dustin Giesbrecht, Jeremiah Friesen, and Cameron Olfert serving as Pallbearers.
