Tina Krahn

Katherine “Tina” Krahn (nee Dyck) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at the Meadows, Swift Current, SK with family members by her side.

Tina is survived by her children, David (Donna) Krahn, Ernest Krahn, and Tim (Angela) Krahn; her son in-law Harry Friesen; her grandchildren, Jolene Friesen (Derek Ohlmann), Sharlene (Kendall) Dunnett, Kara Friesen (Tate Cao), Kyla (Jeremy) Patzer, Landon Krahn, Kaitlyn Krahn, Brianne Krahn, and Allison Krahn; her great-grandchildren, Jacoby, Jada, and Kenzie Patzer, and Katrina and Micah Dunnett.

Tina was predeceased by her husband, John, in 2018; her daughters, Ruth and Debra, in infancy, Barbara, in 1964, and Trudy Friesen in 2001; and by her siblings.

Tina was born on September 12, 1930 in the Rhineland area and grew up on the farm at Rhineland, SK. Tina married John Krahn on November 14, 1954 and began her life on the Krahn family farm. There, she worked together with John for many years, doing chores, gardening, yard work, making many meals, and being a solid support for John and the children growing up. Besides the work on the farm, Tina enjoyed many different trips together with John and created fond memories with friends and family.

After selling the farm, John & Tina moved to an acreage they built and spent a few years of retirement there before they moved to Riverview Village Estates. After John’s passing in 2018, Tina’s health began to decline and her ability to do what she loved to do was limited. In October of 2020, Tina made the move to the Meadows and was there until her passing.

Tina will be dearly missed by family and friends and fondly remembered for her kind heart.

The Funeral Service for Katherine “Tina” Krahn was held on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 2:00 pm from Trailview Alliance Church, Swift Current, SK with Pastor Mike Smart officiating. “My Saviour’s Love” and “Because He Lives” were sung by the congregation under the leadership of Marv & Talita Hildebrand and Jordan Hildebrand, with Trudy Olfert serving as pianist. Special music was brought by Marv & Talita, who sang “The Name of Jesus.” Tributes were given by David Krahn, Tim Krahn, and Kyla Patzer, followed by a photo tribute.

The Interment Service was held following the Funeral Service from the Rhineland Cemetery, Rhineland, SK with Harry Friesen, David Krahn, Ernest Krahn, Tim Krahn, Kevin Krahn, Jeremy Patzer, Tate Cao, Landon Krahn serving as Pallbearers.
