Valerie Keller Obituary

The Celebration of Life for Valerie Keller will take place on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 2:00 pm from the United Church in Gull Lake, SK.

There will be a luncheon at the church immediately following the service.

Valerie Keller, age 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, December 22, 2021 at the Gull Lake Care Home, Gull Lake, SK - two years following a devastating stroke.

Valerie Judith Keller was born February 14, 1953 in Gravelbourg, SK to Lloyd & Elsie (Kotyk) Reed - the third of ten children. She grew up with four brothers and five sisters on a farm near Shamrock, SK where she met many lifelong friends and shared countless fond memories.

Valerie married Robert “Bob” Keller in Bateman, SK on October 21, 1972. Val & Bob spent 25 years developing friendships and starting their own family on the farm. There, they raised their three children - Bradley, Janelle, and Conrad.

Valerie was an active member of the community, involved in the 4-H club, and working together with community members to support the Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, and helping out on the farm wherever she could. She loved the peace and quiet of the farm and the life they built there. Val & Bob eventually moved to Gull Lake in 2002, where she spent the rest of her life.

Valerie loved people - everywhere she went, she made new connections and friendships, she had a warm way of making people feel valuable. Valerie enjoyed working as a family support worker, using her ability to connect with people to help so many families. She made many friendships at her time working at the Swift Current Casino. Valerie would visit and share her beautiful smile everywhere she went.

There was always an adventure that Val was looking forward to. At the age of 58, she went on all the roller coasters in Disneyland. She enjoyed discovering new places in Canada with Bob on their motorhome tour, and they spent time in the sunshine in Yuma, AZ. Valerie was always ready to try new things and explore new places.

Valerie made a positive impact on so many hearts and will be remembered.

Valerie is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Keller; her children, Brad (Kathy) Keller, Janelle (Andrew) Davey, and Conrad (Kaitlyn) Keller; her grandchildren, Sadie, Lena, and Jacoby; her five sisters and three brothers; her nieces and nephews; and by her great-nieces and nephews.

Valerie was predeceased by her father, Lloyd Reed; her mother, Elsie Reed; her brother, Larry Reed; and by her grandson, Peyton Keller.

At this time, no formal funeral services will be held. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
