Valerie Tschetter Obituary

Valerie Anne Tschetter was born on July 4, 1960 in Vanguard, SK to George & Susanna Tschetter. She lived on the family farm south of Neville, SK until the family moved to Swift Current in 1968. She attended special education at the Kinsmen School until 1978, when she started work at Southwest Abilities.

Valerie always attended Sunday School with her family, and although limited in her knowledge, realized she was a sinner and at an early age accepted Christ as her Saviour.

In 1976, the family moved to the farm at Rhineland, SK where they had a dairy operation, until December 1998. Valerie didn’t help with the milking but was glad there was always ample milk to feed the cats, which were very important to her.

Over the course of the next twenty-five years, Valerie lived in several group homes in Waldheim, SK, Maple Creek, SK, and South West Homes here in Swift Current, SK. When she required more care, she was admitted to the Meadows, where she lived until the time of her peaceful passing into the presence of her Lord on Saturday, November 6, 2021. At this time, the family would like to extend our extreme gratitude to the group home workers, caregivers, and nursing staff at the Meadows for their wonderful care. Valerie considered many of you her friends.

Valerie leaves behind her parents, George & Susanna Tschetter; her brother, Gary (Wendy) Tschetter; her niece, Brooklyn (Jeremy) Schroeder; her three nephews, Winston (Cadence) Tschetter, Sterling Tschetter, and Remington Tschetter; and by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

The Funeral Service for Valerie Tschetter was held on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 2:00 pm from Christian Fellowship Church, Rhineland, SK with Pastor Tim Knelsen officiating. “In the Sweet By and By” and “How Beautiful Heaven Must Be” were sung by the congregation, with Loreen Tschetter serving as pianist. Special music was brought by Loreen Tschetter and Peg Olfert. The obituary and tribute was given by Gary Tschetter. The usher in the church was Harry Friesen. The Interment Service was held immediately following the Funeral Service from the Christian Fellowship Church Cemetery, Rhineland, SK with Winston Tschetter, Cadence Tschetter, Brooklynn Schroeder, Jeremy Schroeder, Sterling Tschetter, and Remington Tschetter serving as Pallbearers.
