Wally Ivany passed away tragically on March 14, 2023 at 63 years young in Swift Current, SK.
Harold Wallace “Wally” Ivany was born on January 7, 1960 in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Wally was also known as and called Uncle Waffles or Waffles by close family and friends, especially his great nieces and nephews.
Wally had a colourful past that made him the man he was and one many people loved. When he made a friend, that friend was for life. Wally always had a true-life story to tell anyone that was around. He was loving, caring, generous, and had good advice for anyone that needed it, whether they were family or friends.
Wally loved to travel, he loved art, and listening to music. He encouraged anyone with talent to pursue their hopes and dreams.
Jacky Perrault was Wally’s partner for the last 10 years. They met in the parking lot at A&W one morning while he was walking to work at the Days Inn, where he was the maintenance man. Jacky worked at A&W and they had daily morning chats until Wally got a vehicle and started driving to work. After that, Jacky’s days just didn’t seem right and something was missing in her life. Two years later, Wally got a job to renovate the bathrooms at A&W with his friend, Dale. This is when he and Jacky reconnected — fate had brought them back together.
Wally will be deeply missed and remembered by Jacky as her hero and forever love. He will also be sadly missed by many friends and family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In memory of Wally Ivany, donations made to the Swift Current SPCA or the Salvation Army Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.
