William Reynolds Obituary

The family of Bill Reynolds, age 86, announce his passing on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at The Meadows in Swift Current, SK.

William “Bill” Edwards Reynolds was born on November 5, 1938 at Leslie, SK to Walter Reynolds & Verna Bilokreli of Foam Lake, SK. He grew up on the farm south of Leslie. He learned about wildlife at an early age due to the creek that ran through the farmyard. He learned how to hunt, fish, and trap as most young boys did in the early 1940’s. In high school Bill joined the Air Cadets. After completing his schooling, he began his 30+ year career with the Royal Bank. Over the years his career took the family to various Saskatchewan towns, from Climax to Swift Current, Melfort, Wilkie, Milden, Rosetown, and Weyburn, and also to Dawson Creek, BC. Before retiring, Bill finished up in the Regional Head Office in Regina.

While Bill was in Wilkie the first time, he met his future wife, Gail Book. They were married on July7, 1962. This was followed by the arrival of Kellie in 1964 and Brent in 1966. Bill continued to lead by example, he was a member of the local Lions Clubs everywhere they moved, as well as the Legion. He also volunteered with the Wilkie Air Cadets, Rosetown Scouts and the Rosetown Army Cadets. Bill was also a strong advocate of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation. After retirement to Outlook, he continued to be active in the Wildlife Association, the Legion, and assisting his fellow wildlife member Dean Weldon on the farm. At the farm Bill built a full-sized clay oven which he utilized weekly. He’d get the oven heating while fishing Lake Diefenbaker, then go and bake bread and cinnamon buns, before heading back to Outlook. He built a second oven beside the Outlook Museum for them to use. His spare time was taken up first with painting, then carving birds and animals, then onto carving scenes into moose antlers.

Bill leaves to mourn his wife, of 63 years, Gail Reynolds; his daughter, Kellie Reynolds of Swift Current, SK –  her family: granddaughter –  Nicole Baker, Victoria, BC, great-grandson – Efrayim Baker,  Victoria, BC, grandson – Will Spencer, Regina, SK, and grandson – Aryn Frost (Nicole Wilson) Vancouver, BC; his son, Brent Reynolds of Martensville, SK; his older brother, Gerry (Elin) Reynolds, Saskatoon, SK; a brother-in-law, Duane (Diana) Book, Drayton Valley, AB; several nephews; his good friend, Dean Weldon; and many cousins and friends.

At Bill’s request there is no formal service. In memory of Bill Reynolds, donations made to the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation, or to your local Legion would be appreciated by the family.
