Yvonne Wuttunee Obituary

Yvonne Wuttunee, age 80, of Cabri began her next journey on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the Prairie Healthcare Centre in Cabri, SK. Martha Yvonne Wuttunee was born September 9, 1943 to Gilbert & Lillian Wuttunee in North Battleford, SK.

Yvonne met a young Norwegian Air Force pilot named Jan Meyer. They married and quickly after, moved to Stavanger, Norway. She lived there for a few years and welcomed her sons, Erik and Martin, before she and the boys moved back to Canada. Ten years later, Yvonne met Robert Nelson and had her daughter, Terra Dawn, while living in Edmonton, AB.

Yvonne worked and volunteered for the Metis Association of Ontario, Metis Nation of Alberta Region 1 and 3, and Metis Nation of B.C. She set up the PIP (Performance Improvement Plan) Program in London, ON.

Yvonne was very connected to her spiritual side and had her own psychic television and radio show. She also travelled all over Canada and the United States to perform private readings. Even days after her journey, there were people trying to contact her for a reading.

A woman of many talents and skills, Yvonne owned her own Indigenous modeling agency, was an English Teacher in Mexico, a manager at the Maskwacis Radio Station, and a dedicated seller of Mary Kay in Houston, Texas. She created many ceramic vases, plates, cups, and other items which she sold out of an art gallery in Kelowna, BC. She attended Law School in Ontario and received many certificates from the different online courses she took up until last year. Yvonne was always thirsty for knowledge and loved to share these accomplishments. She was well known in the aboriginal community and loved being involved within it as much as she could.

Yvonne was very quick witted with her jokes and had the most contagious laugh. Most times, she and others would be howling with laughter and have tears running down their faces from laughing so hard. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

Yvonne is survived by her children, Erik (Joelle) Meyer (Sherwood Park, AB), Martin (Dahlya) Meyer (Edmonton, AB), and Terra Dawn (Anthony) Wallis (Cabri, SK); her grandchildren, Sarah Robbyn (Ryan), Samantha (Ben), Charlotte, Roderick, Poppy, and Ethan; her great-grandchildren, Asher, Isaac, Grayson, and Evelyn; her siblings, Winston (Geri) Wuttunee and Loretta “Lou” Jobin; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Yvonne was predeceased by her parents, Gilbert & Lillian Wuttunee; and by her siblings, Amy Eustergerling, Mary Wuttunee, Elsie Wuttunee, and Kenneth Wuttunee.
