Bev is survived by her husband of 48 years, Rob Puckett; her daughter, Brenda & Reg Wilson -  their children, Avery and Griffin; her son, Jason & Shelly Puckett - their children, Ainsly and Jack; a brother, Teeder (Maureen) Houghton, children - Thomas: Laura-Ann (Will) Chalk (their children, Koehn and Sterling): Baxter (Ammaysha): Meeghan; Teeder's two daughters, Karrie (Jason) Gross (their daughter, Ella) and Kim (Brian) Rousseaux (their children, Olivia and Ben);Kim and Karrie’s mother, Jan Hornung; many sisters & brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother, Laura Houghton, in 2008; her father, Alvin Houghton, in 1984; a sister-in-law, Sheila Puckett; as well as by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Bev was born on June 13, 1945, in Ponteix SK, the first child born to Alvin & Laura Houghton.  She had an enjoyable childhood spent on the family farm south of Pambrun. Cousins talk of playing “bakery” - making numerous mud pies, swimming in the dugout and general farm fun.  Bev had many pets over the years, she had a bunny as well as a special dog named Poncho. She went to school in Pambrun through Grade eight. Bev took part in CGIT in Pambrun with her Mom as co-leader. They enjoyed many events and special times. Bev told stories about jobs that she had while growing up, talked about picking weeds in neighbour’s grain crops and picking potato bugs off plants. In Grade nine, Bev started high school in Vanguard. It was in high school that Bev met Rob Puckett and a lifelong romance began. After grade twelve, Bev moved to Moose Jaw to begin training at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital as a Lab Technician. As part of the 1965 graduation class, Bev was awarded the General Proficiency in Laboratory Technique award, later adding X-ray technician to her resume. Bev and Rob were married on October 8, 1966. They settled into their little home in Vanguard and began their married life together. Rob worked and co-owned R & R Motors and Bev worked briefly in Swift Current Union Hospital and later at the Vanguard Union Hospital. On November 13, 1969, Brenda Lynn was born. Bev returned back to work and Brenda had the chance to meet lots of new friends at various baby sitters. On March 29, 1974, Jason William was born. Bev returned to working casually as a lab/x-ray technician, but her new focus was staying home with Brenda and Jason and enjoying her time as a mother…and she was an amazing mother. Brenda and Jason were the apple of her eye and she spent countless hours doing all sorts of fun things with them. As kids, they remember tobogganing, ski-dooing, dirt biking, trips to the ford to look for critters, bottle picking, school clubs, community activities, family trips and every summer at the lake. The summers at the lake were a very special part of Bev’s life. Lac Pelletier was her paradise!! In 1998, Bev & Rob built a new cabin which was winterized and their special summer place turned into a year round resort! Brenda and Jason remember so many adventures at Lac Pelletier. Bev would turn them loose in the morning and they’d stop back for food and drink during the day. Whether they were on their motorbikes, enjoying the water, or exploring the hills, Bev always managed to keep track of them. While in the hospital, Bev told her family that it was the lake that she visualized often. At one point she told Jason that in her mind she had been sitting on her deck for weeks, enjoying the scenery. From her children came grandchildren. Bev’s love and pride for Avery, Griffin, Ainsly and Jack cannot be measured. She spent countless hours building memories with them. She was an avid attender of sporting events, school functions, birthday parties and general visits. She made many trips to Swift Current and Yorkton to provide care for her “little loves” as she called them. Family was important to Bev and she enjoyed organizing numerous family reunions and celebrations. These special family times are part of her legacy and the memories of those events will be carried with many forever. As co-owners of R & R Motors, Bev & Rob enjoyed a number of business sponsored trips, travelling to Australia, Hawaii, Jamaica, Spain, Alaska, Caribbean cruises and into the US. They would always have stories and souvenirs to share when they returned home. Travel was something that Bev & Rob enjoyed. A number of years ago they made a pledge with their good friends, Beth & Glen, that before they travelled far they should check out what good old Saskatchewan had to offer. They spent many years travelling all over the province visiting many interesting locations that most of us just drive by. Once they felt they had done Saskatchewan justice they expanded their travel circle to Canada and the USA.  They enjoyed each one of these trips and were always excited to plan the next one. One of Bev’s special hobbies that turned into a business venture was ceramics. She had done ceramics at the Farrow’s for a number of years. When Farrow’s decided to retire, Bev and her good friend, Fritz, bought the business and moved it to Vanguard. At one point they had three afternoon and two evening classes with over sixty women attending. Bev enjoyed this social time and forged many strong friendships with the patrons. Many of us have a special ceramic piece to remember her by. Bev also loved nature. She had an appreciation for flowers, birds and the outdoors. She grew amazing flowers at the cabin and took pride in making sure they were well looked after. Bev was a long-time faithful contributing member of the United Church. She was involved in the administration of church activities and served on Pastoral and Regional Councils, taking these responsibilities seriously and proud of the achievements they attained. Bev fell ill on October 31, 2014. Investigations in Regina discovered a malignant brain tumour. Unfortunately, she lost her battle against this disease. Bev will be missed dearly for her unwavering support and acceptance of family and friends. One could always count on a warm welcome from Bev. Her genuine compassion and interest in those around her made everyone’s load feel just a little lighter after having spent time with Bev.
