Welcome to the memorial page for

Isaac Wiebe

October 10, 2016

Isaac Wiebe, age 94, of Herbert, SK went to his heavenly home in the early morning of Monday, October 10, 2016 at the Herbert & District Integrated Health Facility, Herbert, SK. Isaac was born in Gouldtown, SK on May 17, 1922 to Cornelius & Margareta Wiebe. He attended River Dell School. As a young man, he bought land in Manitoba where he met the love of his life, Lena Giesbrecht. They married on September 10, 1950 and were blessed with seven children — one boy and six girls. In 1967, the family moved 'back home' to Saskatchewan. During his life he worked as a ranch hand, farmed, did carpentry, and worked as a grader operator for the RM of Morse. He also did custom work, haying, and fence building — his fences were always straight as an arrow. Every job done was WELL done. Isaac (dad) LOVED tools, and his tool shed was a testimony of that. He was a gifted handyman, so of course he NEEDED all those tools. After Lena's (mom's) passing in 1993, Isaac married Hulda Wiebe in 1994. They lived in their own home in Herbert until June 7, 2010 when they moved to the Herbert Heritage Manor. In July 2016, Isaac moved to the Herbert Integrated Health Care Facility – long-term care, where he lived until his passing. Isaac (dad) had a deep love for his family, always welcoming everybody that came home. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren meant so much to him. Isaac is survived by his wife, Hulda Wiebe; his son, Ike (Gloria) Wiebe; his daughters, Margaret Wiebe, Esther (Don) Mathies, Linda (Doug) Dennis, Maryanne (John) Ewing, Irene Mathies, and Dorothy (Arnie) Penner; his twelve grandchildren and their spouses; his eleven (soon to be twelve) great-grandchildren; and by his many in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Isaac was predeceased by his first wife, Lena Wiebe; three of his grandchildren; his parents, Cornelius & Margareta Wiebe; and by his fourteen siblings.

The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from the Living Faith Fellowship Church, Herbert, SK with Pastor Lincoln Vellacott officiating. The pianist for the service was Marilyn Vellacott. Special music was brought by Donovan Epp singing, “All Because of God’s Amazing Grace” and by Don Mathies singing, “Home Where I Belong”.
