Jack Keller

Jack Keller, age 96, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Meadows, Swift Current, SK. Jack was born November 9, 1920 to Adolph & Caroline Keller on the family farm in St. Boswell, SK. After serving in WWII, he returned home to farm with his brothers, Bill and Valentine. He loved to watch all sports and curled for many years on the Keller team with his brothers and nephews. Jack’s family members were the most important thing in his life. He was very close with his siblings and involved in the lives of his nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Second only to family, was his love for the land — his nephews Bill Keller, Bob Keller, and Ken Keller also farmed in the same area. Jack is survived by his sister, Kay Hystad; his nieces and nephews, Murray (Lavina) Hystad, Kathy (Don) Herriot, Bob (Valerie) Keller, Ken (Bernice) Keller, Jerry Stach, and Marilyn Armstrong-Kasey; his many great-nieces and nephews; and by his niece-in-law, Nancy Keller. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Adolph & Caroline Keller; his siblings, Valentine Keller, Bill (Magdalena) Keller Sr., and Mary (Alf) Stach; his brother-in-law, Meriott Hystad; and by his nephew, Bill Keller Jr.

The Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 2:00pm from the Swift Current Funeral Home Chapel, Swift Current, SK with Pastor Ken Keller officiating. The pianist was Mary Henderson. “Just As I Am,” “How Great Thou Art,” and “I’ll Fly Away” were sung by the congregation. The Eulogy was given by Valerie Keller. The Interment Service will be held at the Bateman Cemetery, Bateman District, RM of Gravelbourg, SK at a later date.
