Dearest Deb,
I'm still in shock and filled with profound sadness from the sudden loss of your mom and my aunt Jean.
Since your mother was like a sister to my mom, her passing has only deepened my sorrow.
I can only imagine how difficult it must be to see both your parents pass away within months of each other.
I've often heard couples who share such a deep love for one another simply cannot go on living without the other by their side.
It was so obvious to all how inseparable your mom and dad always were, seemingly joined at the hip.
Your entire family was a joyful inspiration to everyone and your mom and dad's legacy flows directly through you.
I will forever remember the many good times we all had together. Your dad was such a wealth of wit and your mom a most loving host. They were by far my favourite aunt and uncle to visit - from Swift Current to Mazatlan.
My thoughts are with all of you and I send my best wishes for the future, for even though they're both now gone, their presence lives on in you, your two beautiful girls, and their wonderful kids.

On my first job ever (as Dr. Kern's assistance) and first time away from the farm; Jean took me under her wing and taught me so much about life. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. She truly was an amazing lady!
