Val Robert Tyler Ogloff

May 6, 2015

Val Robert Tyler Ogloff, age 31, passed away tragically on Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Val is survived by his soul mate, Jerry Carr; his parents, Darcie & Stephen Oakey; his father, James Ogloff; his brother, Darryl Ogloff (Lori); his sister, Chantelle Davies (Doan); numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his beloved bulldog, Max; and by his grandparents, Arnold & Hazel Anderson. Val was born September 26, 1983, in Red Deer, Alberta. Val and Jerry enjoyed living on their farm in Pangman, SK where he aspired to fulfill his "freedom 35" dream. The farm included dogs and horses, with the recent addition of a baby goat, chickens and a bunny. Val spent his adult life working on the rigs in hopes of eventually becoming solely dependent on their farm land. Val's zeal for life included tormenting his nephews, developing unique nicknames for anyone important to him, going to concerts, cooking, and religiously watching and betting on NFL football. Val shared these activities with family and his abundance of friends. Val will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

The Celebration of Life Service was held on Thursday, May 14, 2015, from the Royal Canadian Legion Hall, Swift Current, SK with Dennis Chupik as the Master of Ceremonies. Tributes were shared by Craig Retvedt, Jimmy Bradley, Corinne Hudson and by a PowerPoint Presentation. An open mike also allowed guests to share stories and memories of Val. The ushers for the service were Mitch Wiebe and Jonny Knoss.
