Anne Smith

Anne Smith, age 92, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the Prairie Health Care Centre, Cabri, SK. Anne was born on October 25, 1922, on a farm by Prelate, SK to Karl & Magdelena Bonogofski. She was the oldest in the family of 8 children. Anne married Jack Smith on February 10, 1961, at Great Falls, MT, USA. Anne was a homemaker and mother. She loved sewing, gardening, cooking and baking. One of her favorite pastimes was doing puzzles and traveling.

Anne leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Sylvia Heard; her grandchildren, Marsha Heard (Jerrod), Crystal Laverdiere (Shawn) and Rachel Heard; and her great-grandchildren, Nevin and Bella Tedford, and Blakely Laverdiere. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack, in 2007; and by her son-in-law, Randy Heard, in 2012.

The Celebration of Life Service was held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the Abbey United Church, Abbey, SK with Rev. Salesi Takau officiating. The pianist for the service was Amanda Faulk. “In the Garden” was sung by the congregation. The eulogy was shared by Sylvia Heard with a poem read by Rachel Heard & Crystal Laverdiere. Chosen hymns for the processional was “Amazing Grace” and for the recessional was “How Great Thou Art”. The ushers were Ralph Stock and Dale Peterson. Honorary pallbearers were “All those who were part of Anne’s life”. The Interment was held Abbey Cemetery with Rachel Heard serving as urn bearer.
